I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at the Metro inn. I felt like the rooms were very spacious, I wasn't expecting a whole kitchen in there. The bathrooms were very well stocked, plenty of towels and toiletries. Coffee was decent. The room was very clean and tidy. And mostly the innkeeper is very nice. Very hospitable and kind! For the price I feel like it's definitely well worth it.
We stayed one night after getting off the bus from up north. We were a bit concerned when we sought directions and saw the recent reviews. When we arrived we asked the gentlemen about the negative reviews. He explained there was someone out to get. A personal vendetta. Trying to ruin his business reputation. He invited us to check out the room before we paid for our room. The room was clean. Double bed. Sofa. TV. Full kitchen with cooker and fridge freezer. Iron. Hairdryer. In fact everything you could want. Plenty of towels and toiletries. We enjoyed our stay. The place was clean. We had no problems despite the other reviews. They also watched our luggage whilst we went for a short walk into town. Fully equipped motel rooms. Decor is a bit dated. That doesn’t matter. We need cleanliness and comfort. They provided. And a lovely welcome.
The motel was simple, but it was just right for our two-night stay. I am very grateful to the host for his friendliness and for providing us with a room that had a kitchen. Since we were traveling with a child, it was extremely convenient to be able to cook and eat comfortably. This made our stay much easier and was truly appreciated. And of course, for the price we paid, it was definitely a good option.
I had read some reviews suggesting that the people at the inn looked intimidating or unusual. It's true that the staff have a different style, some with tattoos and a unique look, but they were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. While the inn itself may not appear to be the most modern or fully equipped from the outside, our room was surprisingly well-stocked with amenities more than I've seen in many other places. We even had the option to cook our own meals, which was a big plus. Despite some of the negative reviews I came across, this inn would be my first choice if I travel to Victoria again.
